THE KNOCK KNOCK
On March 24 2016, Damian Kingsley set of on a penniless 120 gig comedy tour from Lands End to Edinburgh raising £21,000 for the bad housing and homelessness charity Shelter. On the road to Edinburgh, he was given shelter, food and lifts from hundreds of kind strangers who heard about the tour and wanted to help. He cut up his debit cards at Land’s End and didn’t use any money or public transport until July 14th. He did shows, along with other local, guest comedians, at weird and wonderful venues all over the country – from working men’s clubs to theatres, loads of pubs and even a fruit farm. He is currently writing a book about his journey, which culminated in his well received debut solo show at the Edinburgh Fringe. In the meantime, if you’d like to know more about how it went, there are a few of the pieces of media coverage below and a list of all the places Damian visited.
